Ogun state government to partner Lagos government on blue/red train line

The Ogun State Government on Wednesday said plan is underway to partner the neighbouring Lagos State to key into the initiative of the establishment of Blue and Red train line with expectation to extend the gestures of the state

Penpushing reports that  Commissioner for Finance, Dapo Okubadejo made this known during breakdown of the 2023 budget tagged ‘Budget of Continued Development and Prosperity’, with the media.

The Commissioner in company of some of his colleagues which include: Waheed Odusile(Information),  and Olaolu Olabimtan(Budget and Planning), as well as Dr Nafiu Aigoro(Head of Service) disclosed that Ogun State  Government through its Commissioner for Transport had initiated discussions with the Lagos State Government on the proposal.

Penpushing further reports that, Okubadejo explained that the introduction of the blue and red train line will be beneficial to Ogun State, considering the closeness to Lagos State, adding that it would equally boost economy and reduce traffic congestion

The Finance Commissioner disclosed that the Government is making efforts to ensure that it gets investors to partner with, in regards the developmental growth of Olokola Deep Sea Port, in order to turn around the state as the industrial hub of the country

Penpushing also reports that, he said this year, Ogun state government is working towards establishing logistics hub at Wasinmi, in Ewekoro local government area, as well as dry container port at Kajola in Ifo local government area of the state.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning in his own contributions at the media parley held at the Olusegun Osoba Press Centre, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta presented the breakdown of the budget.

Penpushing reports that Commissioner for Information and Strategy on his own part who conducted the parley explained that the breakdown of the budget became necessary to make use of the media in educating the populace about the budget
