Ooni unveils new queen

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has married a new wife, Olori Marian Ajibola Ogunwusi, who was unveiled and received by the first class monarch on Tuesday night into the palace in Ile-Ife town of Osun State.

Penpushing reports that, Director, Media and  Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace. Moses Olafare confirmed the development in a statement,adding that she was ushered at about 8pm by her mother and other members of her family from Kogi and Kwara states, and was  first received by members of Ife Traditional Council

“The Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife on Tuesday night formally received his new queen; Olori Mariam Ajibola Ogunwusi”, the statement emphasized

“The new queen Ajibola  ushered into the Ile Oodua Palace in Ile-Ife at about 8pm last night by her mother and other members of her family from Kogi and Kwara states was first received by members of Ife Traditional Council led by the Obalufe of Ife, Oba Idowu Adediwura and Lowa Adimula of Ife, High-Chief Adekola Adeyeye who after necessary traditional and spiritual rites performed by the Isoros(Chief priests)

presented to the Ogunwusi family and the husband”, Olafare added.

The statement forwarded to Penpushing. Media by Director, Media and  Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace said the new queen is a mixed blood explaining that her late father hailed from Ebira ethnic part of Kogi state while her mother hails from Erin-Ile, an ancient Yoruba town in Kwara state.
