Ecowas Business Women set to honour late Iyalode Alaba Lawson

The Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE), an affiliate of Economic Community for West Africa States (ECOWAS) is set, as arrangements are in top gear towards organizing a befitting evening of tribute in honour of late Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson who is the Founder and President of the federation in Nigeria.

Penpushing reports that the national coordinator of the known formidable and proactive women group Tola Omole disclosed that in line with the approval of the central planning committee for the burial Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE) have picked December 4, 2023 as a day to celebrate their late leader and mentor who died October 28,2023, peacefully at 72 at her private residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital

The programme of events which is scheduled to take place at Raddinson Blu Hotels, Ikeja in Lagos State is designed to have in attendance children and family members of the late Iyalode, as well as other dignitaries within and outside the country, and will also be transmitted virtually for those who would not make it physically, while brochures of tributes from all associations have been put together

Penpushing further reports that evening of tributes will equally feature presentation of wreath to the family of the deceased, just as arrangements are equally ongoing for full participation of members of the federation at the 2- day final burial programme scheduled to hold on December 7 and 8 in Abeokuta, hometown of the late business mogul and renowned educationist.

The members of Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE) in ensuring that, the arrangements are well executed have tasked themselves in raising funds, which findings showed that, they are all committed to, towards genuine efforts ensuring successful implementation of the project of celebrating their benefactor and mentor even in death

Penpushing also reports that it is recalled that the Nigeria chapter of the federation under its pioneer leadership of Iyalode Alaba Lawson was launched on Monday February, 27 2012 at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja Lagos, a ceremony which attracted who is who in the business world

The Federation is established to encourage and develop the common interest of Women Entrepreneurs, to promote and encourage border transactions among the ECOWAS countries which leads to Free Cross Border Trade, to facilitates friendly relationships, collaborations and partnerships between the ECOWAS women entrepreneurs and their international counterparts.

Penpushing reports that other aims and objectives of Federation of Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE) include trade investment and exhibitions of quality products will emerge through rival competitions during Trade Fairs and Exhibitions arranged amidst Economic Community for West Africa States (ECOWAS) Regional countries using ETLS.
