Olubadan installs Babaloja of Oyo state

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji on Friday installed Alhaji Yekini Abass, as the Babaloja of Oyo State,adding that the new market leader lucky to be installed at the time he (Olubadan) was celebrating his birthday.

 Penpushing reports that the monarch while conducting the traditional rite on the new Babaloja noted that considering his contributions to the development of Oyo state, he was the right and credible individual to lead traders in the state.

The monarch in his palace where the ceremony took place, however prayed for the peaceful coexistence of traders in Ibadan land, Oyo state and Nigeria as a whole as the new Babaloja takes over the mantle of leadership in Oyo state.

Penpushing further reports that the newly installed Babaloja, while reacting to his installation praised the Governor Seyi Makinde for allowing traders to operate during coronavirus  pandemic lockdown, saying the Governor did not allow traders to suffer during the difficult time.

 

The Babaloja also commended all the royal fathers in Oyo state, especially the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji for his fatherly role in ensuring that Ibadan land is progressing during his time.

Penpushing reports that, he  assured the government, people of the state, and the traders that he won’t discriminate against anyone, urging traders to keep observing coronavirus protocol as outlined by the government at all levels.

The installation ceremony had in attendance: Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land, High Chief Lekan Balogun, Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Owolabi Olakunleyin, Otun Balogun, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola and High chief Eddy Oyewele.

Penpushing also reports that,others are: Asipa Balogun of Ibadan land, High chief Gbadamosi Adebimpe, Ekerin Balogun, High Chief Kola Adegbolad, Ekerin Balogun, Olubunmi Osioye, Ekerin Balogun Ekarun Olubadan, High Chief Amidu Ajibade, and Ekarun Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Azeez Agagagugu.
