Olu of Ilaro saves ogun state government from losing school of nursing accreditation

The Ogun State Government on Wednesday admitted that the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle  saved the government from embarrassment that may have happened in regards the accreditation of the School of Nursing and Midwifery located in Ilaro

Penpushing reports that, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Tommy Coker made this known at the foundation laying ceremony of Nurses hostel in commemoration of the monarch’s 9th coronation anniversary.

The Commissioner represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Ayinde explained that the school has been on provisional accreditation for awhile, and that the government was at a risk of losing the accreditation for its inability to meet up the criteria for full accreditation, when the monarch came with the sponsorship of the hostels.

Penpushing further reports that, the Commissioner admitted that, the hostel project which is one of the major criteria for full accreditation was yet to be put in place by the government, and it is expected that, anytime now the accreditation board will come for update on the assessment.

‘The donor has lifted a serious burden on government. Kabiyesi has bail government out of the embarrassment, but if not for our royal father who took it upon himself to build hostels, which is a vital criteria for full accreditation, we would have lose our provisional accreditation of school of nursing,Ilaro,when the accreditation come for update assessment’

‘I thank Kabiyesi profusely. What Kabiyesi did is divine. We are on provisional accreditation, the panel are about to come and determine government fate on school of nursing Ilaro. If we are spared, it is because of Kabiyesi intervention, with the construction of the hostels’, she emphasised
