Olowu commends Islamic group for effective humanitarian services

The Olowu of Owu kingdom Abeokuta Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola, has commended the Islamic Humanitarian Society (IHS) for its corporate social responsibility which include providing for the needy in the society, and extending same gestures to prison inmates.

Penpushing reports that the monarch gave the commendation when the organization led by its coordinator Abdul-Rasheed Taiwo Okenla paid him a courtesy visit in his palace located in Oke-Ago/Owu, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital

The traditional ruler represented by Orunto of Owu Kingdom, Chief Abiodun Lashile encouraged the society not to relent on efforts towards bringing joy and smiles to the faces of the needy, and should equally be more proactive in the humanitarian services

Penpushing further reports that the palace assured the society of staunch support and collaboration, stressing that the initiative of the Islamic group was a welcome development to the society at large

The coordinator of the body earlier in his speech explained that the visit was aimed to strengthen ties with the palace, as well as discuss potential collaborations in the areas of education, healthcare, and community development.

Penpushing also reports that Okenla expressed gratitude to the monarch for his hospitality and reiterated the society’s commitment to alleviating suffering and promoting the well-being of vulnerable populations in the country.

The mufti of the society, Ustadz Adam Abdul.Azeez prayed for good health, sound mind and long life for the royal father who he said, his impact is being felt by both the indigenes and lovers of the kingdom alike.
