The lawmakers who signed the impeachment of Oluomo immediately pronounced Hon Oludaisi Elemide from Odeda constituency in Odeda local government area of the state, who had earlier contested the position with him (Oluomo) but lost out, as the new speaker

The Clerk of the House Deji Adeyemo and his Deputy, Mrs Funmilayo Adeyemi were caught unaware of the shocking development as they looked helpless as the impeachment exercise unfolded at the plenary, while as at the time of filing this report the impeached speaker could not be reach for comments
Penpushing reports that the new speaker in an interview with journalists at the assembly complex explained that it was necessary to let the world know that there is a change in the leadership of the assembly
The assembly new boss emphasized that 18 members signed for him to be the speaker, stressing that he is now in charge and custody of all the authority of the Ogun State House of Assembly, adding that his leadership will support the Governor in providing good governance
‘We are law abiding legislators. We want the world to know that there is now a change in leadership. 18 members signed for me to be the speaker. People should remain calm. We are in custody of all the authority of the house. We are saying that the new leadership will support the governor. The governor does not know anything about this impeachment. This is our decision as legislators and new leadership has emerged’, Elemide declared
