Ogun state police command pledges to deploy adequate personnel for hitch free sallah celebration

The Ogun State Police Command has assured that it will deploy adequate security operatives at all praying grounds to ensure polite and firm screening of celebrators during the Sallah festive period across the state and environs.

Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola made this known in a statement, as the Muslim faithful prepares for the celebration, adding that there would be police screening in and out of the praying grounds

The police spokesperson said in addition, the command will conduct effective crowd control, a measure that will be extended to motor parks and picnic centers, adding that security personnel will man the houses of notable Islamic clerics, political leaders, traditional rulers, top government officials during and after the celebration.

Penpushing further reports that the command said in same vein, will collaborate with other sister agencies in the traffic control in and out of the state, just as making call on motorists and passserby to be aware of  stop and search, adding that any suspicious movement should be reported to the authorities.

The Public Relations Officer said such information should be passed to the control room with telephone numbers 09159578888 and 08081770416, noting that identified flash points will be under surveillance of the command

Penpushing also reports that Odutola disclosed that plain clothes detectives will equally be on duty, stressing that anti-bomb ordinance unit will be on standby, and urged residents to go about the celebration without panic.

The Command assured residents of a hitch free holiday, warning that any individual or groups trying to foment trouble will have themselves to be blame, adding that the Deputy Commissioner of Police Bolanle Muritala is to coordinate the security personnel.
