Ogun state government warns landowners against unauthorized building construction

The Ogun State Government has warned land owners against commencement of building construction without a building authorisation from its Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA), stressing that such step is illegal.

Penpushing reports that Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPl. Olatunji Odunlami made this known while speaking on the Letter of Authorisation issued to Nestle Nigeria Plc, flower gate factory, along Sagamu Expressway.

The Commissioner speaking after an inspection visit to the company construction site by the Ogun State Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA) team, led by its Acting General Manager, Engr. Olakunle Olaniran, emphasized that the directive was in compliance with the Building Production Management Regulations 2022

Penpushing further reports the commissioner declared that developers were expected to notify Ogun State Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA) through a Letter of Intent, seven days before the commencement of building construction.

The Acting General Manager in his remark, commended Nestle Plc, for abiding by the building regulations, saying it was the responsibility of the agency to ensure that buildings were built rightly with quality materials and under the supervision of qualified professionals in the built industry
