OGUN RETIREES SET TO DRAG GOVERNOR AMOSUN TO COURT OVER UNPAID BACKLOG OF PENSION

Odukoya also called on the state government on need to restore a body known as the Joint Adhoc Action Committee, which handled the distribution and judicious expenditure of local government allocations, which it allegedly scrapped.

His words “since this legal management committee of Bureau of Local Government had been scrapped by His Excellency and its functions had been illegally placed under the Commissioner for Finance. As result of this, today, billions of naira is lying idle in the Central Bank of Nigeria since no committee is in place to administer the fund. We are calling on the state government for immediate reinstatement of the JAAC body.”

He also noted that about five years ago, the federal government issued a circular on 33.4 per cent increment in pension following the last review of salary and wages, stating that despite their clamouring for the implementation, the state government was yet to implement it.
