OGUN ASSEMBLY SEEKS RENOVATION OF STADIA

while the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Afolabi Afuape took his turn to defend his ministry’s budget before the members of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.

Alausa also tasked the ministry to develop more sport-oriented programmes and put in place capacity building towards engaging and developing the youths across the State.

Speaking on plans by the ministry for the upcoming year, the Sports Commissioner assured of more sporting initiatives and programmes for youth development, informing that the Ministry proposed a total budget estimate of N2.740bn, out of which capital projects would gulp N2.575bn, while the remaining N165m would cater for recurrent expenditure, with revenue target put at N2m.

Afuape added that a total of N9.73m was proposed for the purchase of sporting equipment.
