Obasanjo to lead soccer squad against Nigeria’s Ex-International Footballers
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is to lead a team of soccer squad in a football match against Nigeria’s Ex-International Footballers which include; Segun Odegbami, former captain of the Green Eagles and others.
Penpushing reports that, the free novelty match is scheduled to take place 3pm at the 35,000 capacity Moshood Abiola International Stadium Abeokuta on Sunday, which is part of the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation to celebrate World Diabetes Day.
The team of Obasanjo known as OBJ All Star will be displaying their soccer skills and competence against professional footballers which also include: Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo and Mutiu Adepoju among others.
Penpushing further reports that, Obasanjo and his team had in last one week engaged in intensive training ahead of the encounter, with determination to whip the Nigeria Ex-International Footballers to submission.
The former President team to be captained by Obasanjo had being in camp for awhile in ensuring that, the team is medically and physically fit to tackle and subject the Odegbami led team to a defeat, aimed to be on the world soccer history.
Penpushing also reports that, in another development, the other events to celebrate the World Diabetes Day include a free medical care and screening to hold from 9am at the car park of the Marque of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
Meanwhile,the ceremony will be rounded off with a dinner by 7pm at Marque events centre of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, in the Ogun State capital.
