Neuro Psychiatric Hospital management warns staff against sharing information with journalists

The management of Neuro  Psychiatric Hospital, Aro in Abeokuta has warned its staff against divulging information to journalists, declaring that such act is against the policy of the institution and inimical to its image.

Penpushing reports that, the management gave the warning in a circular dated April 14,signed by Mrs O.F Ladejo, stressing that any workers caught in the act would severely be punished in accordance with public serve rules.

The internal memo in custody of Penpushing, stated further that,  unauthorise disclosure of official information to journalists or the public is strongly frowned at, describing it as bizzard practice and constitute  serious misconduct under the service public rule 030402

‘The attention of the hospital management has been drawn to the indiscriminate dissemination of information to the public by members of staff of the hospital without appropriate authorization from the top echelon of the hospital management’, the memo noted.

Penpushing also reports that, the memo emphasized that all official communications, grievances and complaint must be channeled to the Head of Department, who in turn will communicate same to the hospital management

‘The hospital strongly frowns at this bizzard  practice and wish to state that there are established channels of communication acceptable under the public service rules and the hospital policy’, the memo added.

‘Please be informed that unauthorized disclosure and dissemination of official information to the public is inimical to the image of the hospital, and constitute serious misconduct under the public service rules 030402’,the memo warned

‘In the light of the above, the management wish to state, emphatically that all official communications, grievances and complaints must be channeled to the Head of Department who in turn will communicate same to the hospital management’, the memo stated

‘In addition, the management is against the indiscriminate granting of interview by members of staff to journalists and other media outfits without approval of the hospital management,hence, any members of staff that indulge in such an act would be severely punished in accordance with public service rules’, the memo declared
