Minister Salako assures of transformation in environment sector
The Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Salako has promised to transform the environment sector to demonstrate that Nigeria is truly a giant of Africa, and also underscored the importance of safeguarding Nigeria’s environment.
Penpushing reports that Salako gave the assurance during his assumption of office as Minister of State for Environment recently in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory(FCT), stressing need to collaborate with other government agencies, communities, and stakeholders to implement effective policies and practices that prioritize, protect and restore the environment as well as fulfilling the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope mantra of his administration. .
The Minister, a member of Penpushing Platform pointed out that Nigeria is a very great nation and a gift to Africa hence citizens have responsibility to ensure that the full potential of Nigeria is made for all to see through its leadership role amongst African nations.
‘Environment is a gift to human beings by God, the air, water, land and other living things like animals and plants. If the environment is not well maintained, God will not be happy with us’’, the Minister emphasized
Penpushing further reports that Salako said he is going to be tasking all the Management Departments especially, Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), emphasizing that research is the basis for evidence which he hopes will be up and doing.
The Minister in a statement issued by Head, Press and Public Relations Unit of the Ministry, Ibrahim Haruna stated that every other department is important while working as team to deliver the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led and=ministration of renewed hope in the environment sector.
Penpushing also reports that the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry represented by Charles Ikeah in his response pledged unwavering dedication and commitment to delivering outstanding services, and expressed the collective determination of the Ministry’s workforce to make Minister’s tenure enjoyable and to meet and exceed the Ministry’s and the nation’s expectations.
