Governor Abiodun congratulates Gambari on appointment as chief of staff

The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has expressed high hopes that the appointment of Prof Ibrahim Gambari would bolster good governance in the country.

Penpushing reports that, Abiodun in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary,  Kunle Somorin cited Gambari’s reputation for achievements in the many positions of responsibility he has occupied, as responsible for his choice

The Governor in the statement made available late evening of Wednesday to journalists in Abeokuta said Gambari’s achievements, reputation and pedigree mark him out as a square peg in a square hole.

“On behalf of my family, the Government and People of Ogun State, I congratulate Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari on his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR as the Chief of Staff to the President. The appointment could not have come at a better time, especially as the Nation fights a public health crisis,” the Governor stated.

Penpushing further reports that, Abiodun expressed sincere delight and confidence in the President’s choice of Gambari, on the grounds that the Chief of Staff has quality experience and has built a reputation both locally and internationally in diplomacy and the pursuance of democracy.

“I am particularly delighted in President Buhari’s choice of Prof. Gambari, as I am certain that Nigeria and the people will enjoy the gains of the experience so far garnered by the Professor in the field.

“One cannot have much to say about Nigeria’s history of dealing with other countries, especially the United Nations and the Africa Union, without mentioning twice in a minute, Prof. Gambari’s name and achievements,” he went further.

Penpushing also reports that, he prayed to the Almighty Allah to bless the new appointee with the divine wisdom to carry out his duties for the collective benefit of the Nigerian people, adding, “I pray to Almighty Allah (SWT) to bestow upon you the wisdom to advance the pursuance of the Change dream of Mr President, which is our collective vision for a greater Nigeria.”
