Mace Club of Nigeria to celebrate 40th anniversary with packaged humanitarian activities

The Mace Club of Nigeria, a platform for the growth of friendship and to promote general welfare of members and maintaining a healthy community has concluded arrangements for celebration of 40th anniversary of establishment.

Penpushing reports that Chairman of the anniversary committee, Mace Tosin Fadare made this known at a press conference held on Tuesday at the club house located along Kobape-Abeokuta expressway way, Abeokuta.

The committee chairman accompanied by other members of the club explained that it was established on April 1, 1984 by fifteen members who were then students of various institutions, as well as some of them in secondary schools.

‘The club was established to provide means by which iy can effectively utilize the resources of members and that of friends of the club for community development and leadership roles. The purpose is to perpetuate the growth of friendship and promote welfare of members’, he said

Penpushing further reports that he added that the club was registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on December 14, 1990, as a social club with core emphasis on humanitarian activities, and listed some of the humanitarian and educational interventions in the past.

The planning committee disclosed that some of these include visitation and provision of food items, clothing materials, gift items to leper’s colony, as well as building and regular maintenance of toilets facility to the colony located in Iberekodo area of Abeokuta.

Penpushing also reports that others are visitation and provision of food items and gifts items to Stella Obasanjo Motherless Home, visitation and provision of educational materials to Daniel Akintonde School of Handicapped Children at Adigbe.

The club in similar vein provided scholarship scheme to students whose parents could not afford such, as well as annual roll=back malaria, and debate and quiz competitions among secondary schools in Ogun State.

Penpushing reports that on the programme for the anniversary, Fadare said there will be a visit to the less privileged homes on Saturday March 30, 2024, Muslim and Christians prayers at the club house on Monday April 1, 2024, as well as walk scheduled for Friday April 12, 2024 from Sapon-Alake palace, while on Monday April 15, 2024 there will be a lecture at Dove Hall, Providence Hotel and Suite, Abeokuta, and grand finale on Friday April 19, 20 24 at the club house
