Lockdown:100 tonnes of food items of federal government palliatives for Ogun State

The Federal Government has approved the release of 100 tonnes  of food items containing maize,rice and gari trucks  for Ogun State as palliative measures for residents of the state as the lockdown against coronavirus lasted.

Penpushing reports that, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Farouq, made this known on Friday while speaking with journalists after his meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun in his Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta, the State capital.

The Minister further disclosed that the trucks with the food items will arrive the state within the next 24 hours, as at the time of filing this report, assuring that journalists will be invited for the coverage of the handing over to the State Government.

Penpushing also reports that, she said, the Presidential Task Force is proactive on the project, adding that the federal government will soon start the documentation of vulnerable and poor people who will benefit from the unconditional N5,000 federal government transfer.

The Minister used the opportunity to dispel rumour that Ogun State will not benefit from the federal government palliatives adding that some of the trucks of the palliatives are already on the way to the state.
