Lockdown: Yinfanny foundation distributes foods, relief Materials to less privileged

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Yinfanny Foundation has distributed food items and some relief materials to the residents of Oke Ado area of, Ibadan to help cushion the effects of the partial lockdown in Oyo State occasioned by the global coronavirus pandemic.

Penpushing reports that the coordinator of the Foundation, Hon. Yinka Faniyi-Peters, while distributing the materials noted that the aim of the Non-Governmental Organization was to give back to the society particularly the less privileged.

The coordinator, admonished the people of the state to obey government directives on the prevention and control of the virus by staying at home at the scheduled time until otherwise directed, reminding the residents that the pandemic was real, and urged them to stay at home in order to prevent its spread.

Penpushing further reports that, Faniyi-Peters explained that she was moved to donate the relief items so as to alleviate the suffering the people, and equally lauded Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State Council under the leadership of Alhaji Ademola Babalola for their support in sensitizing people since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The donor added that she is adequately following the information disseminating by the institution to curb the spread of the virus and promised to pay them a visit to commend their good works, and also commended the efforts of the Oyo State Government towards reducing the spread of the virus in the state.

Penpushing also reports that, she called on other public-spirited people of Oyo State to come to the aid of the people in these trying times, and used the event to expressed appreciation to the institutions and individuals that have been supportive and encouraged them not to relent in their good works.

Meanwhile,  items donated by the foundation included 10 bags of 50kg rice, face masks and hand sanitizers, while the team was  welcomed by the Ibadan South West Chairman Alhaji Maroof Balogun and his cabinet.
