Lockdown: Anambra state government lifts ban on burial

The Anambra state government has lifted ban on burial and funeral ceremonies in the State, with strict instruction that such ceremonies must strictly adhere to the coronavirus  protocols which includes  limited number of gathering of not more than thirty persons, compulsory wearing of face masks, washing of hands, social distancing, among others.

Penpushing reports that the  Governor of the state Willie Obiano lifted the ban during a statewide broadcast at Aguleri, that his administration is determined to find ways to mitigate the  spread, emphasizing that corpses that arrive the state must be buried the same day with the accompanying relatives self-quarantined for fourteen days.

The Governor said his government is working hard to help people in gradual return to normal life, stating  that even though there is no active case of coronavirus  in the state, stressing that there will soon be an active launch for search of people with  symptoms.

Penpushing further reports that he disclosed that  teachers will resume on Monday and will be trained in readiness for re-opening of schools, adding that Anambra state has two potential testing centers which are still awaiting approval by the NCDC.

The Governor reiterated that markets will re-open on Monday after a successful training, stressing that markets who fail to comply, will be shut down, saying that all boundaries in the state remain shut, with exception of essential service providers, pointing out that they are working to seal off bush paths through which commuters enter the state.
