Litigants bombard courts as judiciary staff return to work

The Court premises in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital on Tuesday recorded large turnout of litigants following resumption of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigerian (JUSUN),as number of them lamented that the strike seriously affects them.
Penpushing reports that the Public Relations Officers of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigerian (JUSUN Oyo State branch, Obafunso Okulaja corroborated this development that the strike really affected some litigants because there has not been any court sitting aside special court since the strike has begins
“Our registry was overcrowded today because people are too much in detention; people trooped in en mass to court today, no fewer than 80 cases were registered in our registry today. Magistrate courts sat today, the Chief Magistrate (admin) has directed all magistrate to resume tomorrow, so things will return to normal by tomorrow
“Police stations have been over crowded with suspects because court could not sit, some cases have reached hearing stage, while some has reached judgment stage before the commencement of the strike, but all these will be address now that we are back to work”,he assured
Penpushing further reports that a Senior Registrar at Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, Mr. Yinka Akanbi said that some judges in court 6, 7, 9 and 10 seated and activities have commenced in the court as it used to be before the strike.
