Kidnappers free abducted Pastor

The popular cleric and founder of the Solid Rock Kingdom Church in Mkpat Enin, Akwa Ibom State,  Apostle  John Okoriko who was kidnapped by gunmen have regained freedom, three days after abduction

Penpushing reports that, it is recalled that the clergyman was abducted on Tuesday, and the abductors hours after demanded for N100 million ransom but later reduced it to N30 million, as at time he was under their custody

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, confirmed the release, adding that the police were still on the trail of the abductors, stressing that the command was following up the matter professionally to ensure that the abductors are brought to book.

Penpushing further reports that, a family member of the cleric expressed joy over the release explaining that he (Okoriko) after his release worshipped with the congregation at the Uyo branch of the church on Friday.

The police spokesman, however, declared that the command was not aware if any ransom was paid to secure his release, as at the time of this report, while it was also not clear how much the family eventually paid.
