Katsina Kidnap: Abductors in contact with Government, says Governor Masari

The abductors of hundreds of students from Government Secondary School in Kankara of Kastina State have made contacts with the government and discussions are current ongoing, while the location of the victims had identified by security agencies,

Penpushing reports that, Governor Aminu Masari, made this known on Monday in a statement issued by the presidency and signed by Garba Shehu, quoting the Governor as saying progress is being made in the rescue of the students.

The Governor said to have been accompanied by his Deputy, Manir Yakubu to meet and brief President Muhammed Buhari was reported saying, “we are making progress and the outlook is positive,’’

Penpushing further reports that the Governor reportedly told journalists after an hour meeting with Buhari, that the kidnappers had made contact and discussions were already on pertaining to the student’s safety and return to their homes.

The Governor said the “President was fully committed to the rescue of the school children,” adding that “it was only appropriate to visit the President and give him more details of rescue efforts”.

Penpushing also reports that, President Muhammed Buhari is currently on a private visit to Kastina, his home state, but yet to visit the school or parents of the abducted students
