JOURNALISTS, APC CHIEFTAINS ATTACKED AT PARALLEL ONDO CONGRESS

Penpushing further reports that, the armed thugs chased the party members out of the venue using machetes, clubs and other dangerous weapons, as well as destroying properties and vehicles within the vicinity.

As at the time of filing this report, those injured were rushed to the hospital for medical attention,but when contacted Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph,said he was not aware of the event, but was only aware of the congress that held at the International Event Centre.The Command spokesman, however said he would make inquiries and get back to react.

In another development the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu-led All Progressives Congress(APC) held its State Congress at the International Event Centre, Akure, where Ade Adetimehin was picked as the new chairman of the party.

Adetimehin who was unopposed and was elected through a voice vote had been in acting capacity since last year after Isaac Kekemeke was suspended from office.
