He said his believe was to move Oyo State forward by complementing the good work that Governor Abiola Ajimobi APC led administration has done to turned the State to be a pace setter State among other states in Nigeria
“I am an established aspirant, I have been part of this government since its inception, I have what it takes to govern this state in terms of experience and exposure, I know where we started, I know where we are and I know where we are going to, I have the capacity and capacity to be the governor of this state, I have gained a lot of experience and exposure on how to govern this state since I have been serving Oyo state government”
He explained further that considering the substantial level of socio-economic growth and progress been experiencing in State for the past 7 to 8 years under the leadership of Governor Ajimobi, every well-meaning citizen of the State will agree that there is no other way than to move this State forward for continuity in vision, idea, mission and focus
“It has been some years of transitional Government in Lagos State, so this is what we are trying to replicate in Oyo State, Ajimobi has done well, although nobody is perfect, so I will develop the legacies he will leave behind”
The commissioner reiterated that the post of the Governor of Oyo State is not meant for the mediocrities, but it is for someone who has a lot of experience, education and exposure
” I am a son of a politician, I started politics in 1979 when I used to follow my father to political meetings, my father was a colleague with Baba Awolowo, I spent over 25years in United States of America, before I came home to serve my State, I have served in different capacities in Oyo State Government, I have been a Commissioner for the past 7 years, all this are what made me to stand out as an established aspirant out of others who are aspiring to govern this state come 2019″
While highlighting his agenda for his continuity to move Oyo State forward if elected as the governor of the state in 2019, he noted that he will give more priority to education because the future of youth is education and the youth are the leaders of tomorrow.
He added the he would upgrade The Polytechnic, Ibadan to a degree awarding institution, restoring the glory of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology back which was sometimes rated as one of the best state university in Nigeria.
Omodewu also said he would improve youth by creating an enabling environment for job opportunities, as well as infrastructural development, improvement on health and well being of the people of Oyo State, bringing investors to the State to boost economy and increase the IGR of the State, and giving special treatment to the aged people, pregnant women and physically challenged people
He however urged the people of Oyo State and the Media to support his ambition to be the Governor of the State in 2019 so the State can be better for all
“I want to urged the people of Oyo State to support me, governing of this State is not meant for the inexperience people, I am the only one that can do the job, I also want the media to support me, write something good about me, let people know that I am going there to serve them, and I promise I will not let them down”
