Gunmen abduct traditional ruler, cabinet members in Imo state

Gunmen have abducted a traditional ruler, Charles Iroegbu of Umuezie community in Nguru, Aboh Mbaise council area of Imo state, alongside his entire cabinet members, and this came barely few days  bandits attacked facilities belonging to security agencies in the state

Penpushing reports that, the incident occurred Tuesday evening at Seven and Half junction in the Obowo area while the victims were returning from a traditional wedding they attended at Ihitte-Uboma council area of the state.

The incident as reported by a witness said the gunmen blocked the vehicle they were travelling in, pulled down the driver, and one of the abductors took the wheel and drove off with the monarch and his cabinet

“The attack happened around the Seven and Half junction, the gunmen simply blocked the vehicle they were travelling in, pulled down the driver, and one of the abductors took the wheel and drove off with the monarch and his cabinet, while the rest of the gunmen followed closely behind in another vehicle,” a witnessed said

Penpushing further reports that, as at the time of filing this report, the Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, could not be reach for comments or reaction over the ugly development.
