GUNMEN ABDUCT FEMALE LAWYER IN TARABA
The Vice Chairperson of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo branch, in Taraba State, Zainab Kishimi has been kidnaped by gunmen on Thursday in her residence located behind Central Bank Headquarters, Jalingo
Penpushing reports that, one of the victim’s colleagues who want his identity protected confirmed the incident, adding that the lawyer was abducted at gun point at about 6pm,stressing that she was in her home when the bandits abducted her
The colleague said, Kishimi works with the State’s Ministry of Justice, adding that, “she is a member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Taraba State Chapter and she served as Chairperson of her electoral committee..
“She is a member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (Fida), Taraba State chapter and she served as chairperson of her electoral committee.
“The incident came to many of us in the profession as a surprise because it’s very unfortunate that criminals can walk freely amidst residents and reach their prime target without security hindrance,” the source said.
Penpushing further reports that the Taraba State Police Command Public Relations Officer, David Misal, said as at the time of filing this report efforts are ongoing to rescue the female lawyer.
