Guild of Corporate Online Publishers elect first female president
The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) on Wednesday democratically elected first female President of the vibrant body, Maureen Chigbo to lead for the next two years, alongside others elected officers
Penpushing reports that, the election took place at the end of the business session held at the Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos State, ahead of the 5th conference scheduled to hold on Thursday, with Secretary to the Federal Government, Boss Mustapha to deliver key note address and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the chairman
The unanimously elected officials also include: Danlami Nmodu(Deputy President), Tom Chiahemen(Vice President North),Ken Ugbechie(Vice President South), Collins Edomaruse(Secretary-General) ,Olumide Iyanda Deputy Secretary)and Yemisi Izuora((Treasurer)
Penpushing further reports that, others are: Azu Arinze(Financial Secretary), Remy Nweke(Publicity Secretary),Tony Edike(Zonal Coordinator South-East),Raymond Ukaegbu (Zonal Coordinator South-South),Akeem Oyetunji(South-West), Max Amuchie,(North Central), Horatius Egba(North-East) and James Ume(Zonal Coordinators North-West)
The newly elected President who was welcome with rousing applause by members,in her acceptance speech said she is overwhelmed with the decision of the male dominated body to elect her, with a pledge that she would do her best in adding values to body.
The President called on all members across the country to extend adequate support to the team, and commended the previous leadership having laid a good foundation, towards developmental growth of the organization and members.
‘I am excited on the confidence you repose on me. I will do my best, I will try to do my best with the support of all. I pray God give me strength to serve, we will do it together. Mark my words, I say we will do it together, we must all work together to lift GOCOP’, she emphasised
