Groom, friends killed in auto crash hour before wedding
A groom, Mustapha Garba Gumau who is a senior police officer and two of his friends were killed in a fatal auto crash in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, just moments before his wedding ceremony.
Penpushing reports that the groom alongside his friends were en route from Gumau to Magaman-Gumau for his wedding fatiha scheduled for 10:00 am when the accident occurred around 9:00 am at Bargan Tsamiya village.
The eyewitnesses, account said the vehicle conveying the groom and his friends veered off the road and crashed, killing him and two others identified as Shuaibu Umar and Sulaiman Musa on the spot.
Penpushing further reports that the sources said other occupants of the vehicle were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries, as the tragic incident said to have thrown the communities of Gumau and Magaman-Gumau into mourning,contrary to the expected joy of the wedding.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report the Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Wakil, could not be reached for his reaction.
