Aftermath of Penpushing report, Amosun visits bereaved Governor Abiodun family

The former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Monday visited the bereaved family of Pa Emmanuel  Abiodun, father of his successor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, following earlier exclusive report of his (Amosun) ‘reluctance’ to pay condolence.

Penpushing reports that, it is recalled that on Sunday ,Penpushing media reported that two weeks after the demise of the 89 year old Abiodun, the former Governor known not to be in good term with his successor had kept mute over the death

The  former Governor  apparently in reaction to the Penpushing Media report, had a change of heart and on Monday visited the Iperu Remo family house of  the bereaved to condole with them, where he arrived  10:38am, and spent about five minutes before rushing out.

Penpushing further reports that, Amosun accompanied by  Hon Mickey Kazeem, former House of Representatives member representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda federal constituency among other political associates wrote in the condolence register, “Adieu Baba – may the good Lord grant you eternal rest. Adieu”.

Penpushing also reports that both Amosun and Abiodun were known to be best friends before politics tore them apart, which became more pronounced during the build up to the Governorship election, as Amosun declared that he would not see Abiodun emerging as the Governor.

The reasons for Amosun stands against his known best friend was not made public till now, while Abiodun on his own part has not come out to tell the world while Amosun worked against his political interest to take over from him as Governor.

Penpushing reports that, it is recalled that in the build up to the Governorship election, Amosun as sitting Governor under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), encouraged his supporters to pitch their tents with an ‘alien’ Allied People Movement (APM) in the state.

The angry  Amosun  who could not  have his way at the national headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) to get Abiodun disqualified by the party,  however, secured a ticket for his choice candidate and proposed successor, Akinlade to contest under the platform of Allied Peoples Movement(APM), but the party lost to All Progressives
