Governor Dapo Abiodun bereaved, loses father

The father of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Pa Emmanuel Abiodun has died on Monday at age of 89 years, after a brief illness as contained in a statement by the deceased family in Iperu town of the State.

Penpushing reports that, the bereaved Governor in a statement said burial arrangements would be made public in due course, adding that his late father fondly called “Baba Teacher” due to his dedication to duty imparting knowledge and inculcating the right values in his students died peacefully.

‘The Abiodun Family of Iperu-Remo, Ogun State has announced the passing on of their Patriach, Dr Emmanuel Adesanya Abiodun, who slept in The Lord on Monday August 2, 2021 at the age of 89 after a brief illness’, the statement reads.

‘Dr Abiodun, a devout Christian, is survived by his wife, Mrs Victoria Abiodun, many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members, amongst them the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR’, the statement added.

Penpushing further reports that, the statement said the deceased was , an educationist, who worked as a school teacher for many years across the old Western State and was fondly called “Baba Teacher” due to his dedication to duty imparting knowledge and inculcating the right values in his students.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has commiserated with the Governor over the loss, describing the death as “most painful and a huge loss to the family of the deceased and indeed, Ogun State as a whole.”

Penpushing also reports that,  a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the party  Caretaker Committee. Tunde Oladunjoye, said the deceased was a teacher of teacher

“Baba Teacher”, as the late Dr. Abiodun was popularly known and fondly called, lived a life of dedication of service to his community and to humanity. He was a teachers’ teacher, a disciplinarian, who imparted the right values and impacted positively not only on his children, but also on his students in all the schools where he taught across the length and breadth of the old Western States of Nigeria”,Oladunjoye wrote

“The death of a loved one is always painful, no matter the age; but we took solace in the fact that Baba Teacher lived a fulfilled and exemplary life. More importantly, he gave Ogun State an Omolubi Governor that is taking the Gateway state to hitherto unattained positive heights”, the statement added, while praying, the statement added
