Two drivers die in auto crash along Abeokuta-Lagos expressway

Two drivers were on Sunday killed in a road crash involving a white colour Mazda bus with registration number SEY311ZY and another unregistered grey colour Mazda car which collided in  Ayedere village, along  Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.

Penpushing reports that an eyewitness account has it that the  Mazda bus, loaded with foodstuffs which include  Garri, Elubo among others was on its rightful lane, outbound Abeokuta, when the unregistered Mazda car, driving in a direction prohibited by traffic law (one-way), collided with the Mazda bus in an head-on collision.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi who confirmed the crash said the two drivers of the vehicles died  on the spot due to the impact of the collision, adding that the motorboy of the white colour Mazda bus sustained varying degrees of injuries and has been taken to a private clinic for medical attention.

Penpushing further reports that Akinbiyi said as at the time of filing this report, the driver of the Mazda car has been taken away by his family members for burial, while that of the white colour Mazda bus has been taken to Ifo General Hospital morgue.

The agency spokesman disclosed that the accidented vehicles has been taken to Obada Divisional Police Station for further investigation, adding that the authorities commiserated with the families of the deceased.
