Governor Abiodun flags off Gateway Aviation Village

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has flagged off the ground-breaking of 100 units two-bedroom expandable bungalows out of 200 units proposed at Gateway Aviation Village in Iperu, projects said to be efforts at providing affordable housing and bridging the gap of housing deficit across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

Penpushing reports that Abiodun unveiling the project, said the state had been the most friendly in terms of provision of affordable housing and bridging the gap of housing deficit with economic development and sustainability for the people in the state and the nation at large.

The Governor represented by his Special Adviser on Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, noted that the Gateway Aviation Village would complement the Agro-Cargo Airport which would further boost the socio-economic activities in the State, as the Aviation Estate would empower over 5,000 youth and artisans who will be working on the site.

Penpushing further reports that he appreciated God for the success recorded in the housing industry during the first tenure of his administration, saying a replica of the project was in Kemta, Idi-Aba, Kobape in Abeokuta, while Sagamu, Ilaro and Ijebu-Ode are nearing completion.

The Governor assured that the first phase of Gateway Aviation Village would be delivered in six months’ time, adding that a state of -art infrastructural facilities would be put in place to maximise the value of the estate, he noted.

Penpushing also reports that Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Shakirudeen Salam, on his part appealed to the people of the area to give necessary cooperation and support to professionals who would be working on-site, to aid in the completion of the Estate at the stipulated time.

The traditional ruler of the town, Alaperu of Iperu, Oba Adeleke Idowu, in his goodwill message commended the efforts of the Governor for providing such a legacy project in the town, urging sons and daughters of the land to key into the project by obtaining forms and ensuring proper documentation to benefit from the Estate.

Penpushing reports that an indigene of the town, Engr. Wale Yussuf, applauded the present administration for the landslide achievements in the housing sector, saying it would benefit large number of people who will be working on the site as direct labour.

The representative of Gateway Mortgage Bank, Mr. Omigade Olukayode, in his contributions thanked the state government for its giant strides in the housing sector and assured of the readiness of the Bank to support the project.
