Family sets for 55 years remembrance of Ladoke Akintola

The family of Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola has disclosed that arrangements are underway to host a befitting 55 years remembrance anniversary and a lecture in honour of the late sage in Ogbomoso
Penpushing reports that this was disclosed by the coordinator, Ladoke Akintola Memorial Foundation, Mr. Yemi Adedokun while speaking during courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Michael Ologunde.
The coordinator of the foundation added that, the event will take place on 15th January, 2021, disclosing that the foundation is also working to further immortalize the late politician,and sought the cooperation of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology(LAUTECH) management for the success of the events.
Penpushing further reports that Adedokun assured the management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, of cordial relationship and support between the family and the institution in all ramifications.
The team led by Adedokun on the visit include Hon. Sola Kolawole, Remi Oladoye, Barrister Balogun, Azeez Sharafadeen, Barrister Olatunbosun, adding that said the family was ready to support the university in its bid to be a centre of academic excellence.
Penpushing also reports that the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ologunde in his remarks, said that the development is in line with his thought about late Akintola whom during his life time was a great man and astute politician.
The Vice Chancellor commended the family for the steps taking so far and urged them to do more in projecting the name of Akintola, and while appreciating the family for the gesture, the Professor of Food Chemistry said the school will also contribute its own quota to the success of subsequent events that will be organized in honour of the late politician.
Meanwhile, other highlights at the ceremony was the donations of facemasks,hand sanitizers, nooks to the institution library on behalf of Chief Ambassador Yomi Akintola and Dr. Abimbola Akintola.
