Foundation organizes competition for students towards better future career

A Non-Governmental Organisation, Ray Hope Community Foundation has organised inter school competition for students in Ogun State to guide them on footstep into becoming shining stars in their future career.

Penpushing reports that, the competition took place at the Women Development Centre, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, which also focused to improve the quality of life through healthcare and educational support programmmes for the vulnerable and other groups

The Executive Director of the foundation, Mrs Taiwo Adebanjo in her speech disclosed that, some students are on the scholarship of the organization, as well as other beneficiaries registered for various vocational studies.

“Rays of Hope Community Foundation currently having 4 of our children in the university that we are supporting right now that they are on strike, they are all learning different vocational trade and they are doing well in their different trade. We also have our children in secondary school and primary” she said.

Penpushing further reports that, she urged parents and guardians on need to let the welfare of the child, particularly girl-child be a priority, adding that the organization frowned at wayward lifestyle of some of the youths

The Director emphasized that, stakeholders should always be mindful of the safety of the children and students, for them not to engage in social vices which include early pregnancy among girl-child, which may terminate their lives through unwanted pregnancy

Penpushing also reports that, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in a statement at the event emphasized the importance of education, adding that in view of this the state government ensure that all school age children gets qualitative education.

‘When a child is newly born, parents make that child learn many things while growing up and then send that child to school after the age of five years. Our home is our first education institute where we learn how to relate with others, and even learn skills’

Penpushing reports that, the Permanent Secretary pointed out that, school education is very necessary to be successful in practical life, stressing that through school, students learn and develop personality, mental skills, moral and physical power

‘Without proper education, one gets lack of all educational benefits in his/her life. Education is the only key to success in personal and professional life. Education provides us various types of knowledge and skills’

‘It is a continuous, slow and secure process of learning which helps in obtaining knowledge. It is a continuous process which starts from birth and ends when our lives end. Without education, we will not have Engineers to build our roads and bridges. Without education, we will not have lawyers to impose laws and orders for the benefit of the society’

‘We learn to become a good person, learn to live home society, community and friendly circle. Attending school and receiving education is extremely vital for every person and necessary for those who want to achieve success’

Penpushing further reports that, the Permanent Secretary declared that it is collective responsibility of all stakeholders to make education sector strife for the betterment of the children, pointing out that government cannot do it alone

‘That is why there is a public, private partner policy which enables organisations, corporate bodies and philanthropists adopt educational support programme or even adopt a school to make learning activities better for our children day by day’

‘Education does not only make us able to learn about History, Science, Mathematics, Geography and other subjects, however, it is to discover or invent new things for the betterment of the whole mankind. So education is important and must for all of us to have a better and happy lifestyle’
