Former legislative deputy leader, ogundimu declares interest in chairmanship seat

The former Deputy Leader of the Abẹokuta South Legislative House, Hon. Afolabi Oladapo Ogundimu, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship of Abẹokuta South Local Government of Ogun State ahead of the council poll.

Penpushing reports that Ogundimu made the declaration in a statement on Monday, explaining that his decision was driven by a commitment to transformative change, following personal reflection and extensive consultations with party leadership.

The Egba born politician in the declaration statement emphasized the need for courageous, innovative leadership that delivers responsible and inclusive governance, citing the Egba truism “ká tó fi ènìyàn jẹ́ oyè, ó ní láti jẹ ẹni irè!”

Penpushing further reports that he explained that his transformative vision is built on four key agendas which include Infrastructural Development, Human Capital Development, Qualitative and affordable Primary Health Care service as well as Security

The aspirant who is eyeing the local government chairman seat under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said these agendas align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope and Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Building Our Future Together Agenda in Ogun State.

Penpushing also reports that he solicited for support of leaders of the party and members in the council, boasting that his qualifications and experience will add value to the local government if offer the opportunity to rule, calling on them to join him on this journey of hope, discovery, and new dawn, to reshape their destinies and rewrite their story.

Meanwhile, the aspirant paid homage to the local government’s rich historical background and the contributions of its fathers and forebears, including notable figures like Hon. Justice Adetokunbo Ademola, Chief Rotimi Williams, and Professor Wole Soyinka.
