Gunmen disguising as members of a local vigilante has attacked Mubizen, a Fulani community in the Pangri District located in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State, killing twelve residents, incident said to occurred on Sunday
Penpushing reports that, a source said the assassins stormed the community wearing uniform and deceived residents of coming to arrest some suspects, and before people know what was happening, the gunmen open fire on them
The Fulani leader in the community, identified as Ardo Bello narrating the sad incident said as at the time of filing this report, 50 people, most of them women and children, are yet to be accounted for after the attack.
Penpushing further reports that he affirmed that, the attackers also rustled 130 cows from the community, which is said to be 30 kilometres away from Bali town, the council headquarters of Bali’s local government.
“The attackers said they came to the community to arrest suspects, in the process, they opened fire on the people unrestrained killing 12 people on the spot’, the resident who is the head of the Fulani emphasized.
Penpushing also reports that, Taraba State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi, when contacted as at the time of filing this report, confirmed the incident, adding that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack.
