ELECTORAL COMMISSION THREATENS TO ARREST UNCLEARED CANDIDATES STILL CAMPAIGNING

The commissioner declared that, it was illegal and against the electoral law for any aspirants to engage in such act, emphasizing that the commission will not hesitate in handing over such politician(s) to the security agents to face the music.

‘It is illegal for anybody whose name not on the INEC list of candidates to go about campaigning. We may not have power to arrest, but anybody caught, we shall hand over to the appropriate security agents

Speaking further, the electoral boss assured the commission readiness for the election, and advised politicians to avoid an act that may mar the exercise, adding that number of ad-hoc staff have being trained ahead of the poll.
