Ecowas women entrepreneurs gloriously celebrate iyalode alaba lawson in death

The Economic Community of West Africa States Female Business Women Entrepreneurs (FEBWE), Nigeria Chapter on Monday celebrated the late President of the group, who doubles as the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, having organized a befitting tribute in her honour.

Penpushing reports that the colourful  programme held at Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State attracted hundreds of members of the association across the country, as well as invited dignitaries within and outside the country.

The event which was a night of emotions saw number of the deceased admirers and benefactors coming out in turn, to share their experiences with the deceased, who was also the first female President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA)

Penpushing further reports that among those who came out to speak on the known good work of the late Lawson include, captains of industries, chambers movement, business partners and clergymen, as the children and other family members religiously listened

The four hours tributes equally include special renditions, including Ewi (poetry) rendered in honour of the late Lawson, while the driver of the deceased Alhaji Tunde Ajisegiri was equally appreciated by the body with cash donation of N200,000

Penpushing also reports that the National Coordinator of the Economic Community of West Africa States female entrepreneurs, Princess Omotola Omole, in her opening remarks, revealed that the tributes night was organised to celebrate the good life of their late boss.

The known proactive coordinator described the late founder of the Nigeria chapter of the group as a great role model, mother, mentor and entrepreneur per excellence, emphasisng that she learnt a lot from the deceased.

‘Iyalode is a great role model, she is everything to us. She carries us everywhere, pulling everybody up. She has made a successor plan already for us. No vacuum because she carries us everywhere and showed us things and ways. She taught us well. No word to describe how wonderful she is. She is a role model and great mentor. We are not mourning; we are here to celebrate a great personality and mother’, Omole added “.

Penpushing further reports that in his sermon, the General Overseer of the Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) , Apostle Lawrence Achudume enjoined Nigerian leaders and politicians to learn from the life and time of late Lawson.

The known vibrant and frankly speaking cleric pointed out that if Nigerian leaders can learn from  the late Lawson, the country would be a better place to leave, affirming that that the deceased was a bridge that connects people across the divide, noting that she didn’t only fought for women but for humanity.

Penpushing also reports that Achudume while speaking from the book of Ecclesiastes 12 verse 11, Achudume, admonished all and sundry to fear God and respect humanity, saying death does not fear anybody, and described Lawson as selfless and very humane, said the deceased interest was to make people and not to make money out of them.

The leader of Ogun State government delegation, Hon Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo in her remarks, disclosed at the event that the deceased was an important woman to the state and the government is always proud of her.

Penpushing reports that the team leader who is the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development explained that Lawson has positively influence many lives beyond the state, saying her impact in the education sector was enormous

The first Deputy President of, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Alhaji Jani Ibrahim said the deceased was trailblazer, a great icon and a person who has great passion for the chambers movement and prosperity of Nigeria.

Penpushing further reports that the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) leader described Lawson as an amazon, enigma and a mother who never harbours wickedness, recalling that she so passionate about the chambers.

The President of Women Entrepreneurs and Professional Development Network, Mrs Affi Israel Ibanga in her own remarks, said Lawson deserved all honours done to her in the presence of her family, stressing that she was a woman whom Nigeria is proud of, saying she has gone to rest with God.

The Women Entrepreneurs and Professional Development Network boss who is one of the close associates of Lawson admitted that she  was an accomplished business woman whom business entrepreneurs respected pointing out that her love and passion for development women and youths was top-notch.

Penpushing reports that President Commonwealth Business Women Africa – Nigeria, Hajia Bola Muse in her comments stated that the late Iyalode was a mother and mentor as well as guardian who always show her the way, recalling that she always correct with love and joy anytime anybody offends her.

The founder and National President of Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners (AWEBO) Jovita Ada Iroemeh, a mentee of the deceased in her tributes lamented that Lawson who she described as a wonder has gone home to rest

Penpushing further reports that Akinola Lawson, first child and son of the decease responding on behalf of the family thanked the organisers for honouring their late mother, affirming that with all the tributes, it was glaring they (children) never really knew who their mother was, but noted that their late mother sacrificed herself to the very end as long as other people’s needs are met.

The ceremony which equally included a candle light with condolence registered opened at the event had other notable dignitaries   include a former first lady of Ogun State, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, former speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni, Past President  of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, (NACCIMA ), Chief John Odeyemi, Past President of NACCIMA, Chief John Udeagbala, first deputy President, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim and 2nd Deputy President , Dr. Emi -Otaji.
