Easter: Governor Abiodun urges christians to live teachings, virtues, message of love by Jesus

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has called on Christians, to live the teachings and virtues and message of love by Jesus Christ, as well as need to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus as a sign of God’s love and gift to them.

Penpushing reports that the call was contained in a statement of his Easter message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin on Saturday, stressing that Christians should continue to spread love and promote unity.

The Governor noted that God manifested His power through the resurrection of Christ, which according to him, symbolises hope for good time to come after trials and tribulation, that though is a time for the Christians to celebrate the rise of Jesus, the period should however be used to offer prayers to God for His mercy on the country in general and Ogun State, in particular.

Penpushing further reports that while calling for sober reflection on the death of Jesus on Mount Calvary, his genuine love and intercession for mankind, the governor said Easter should be made special by the followers of Christ, by showing love and compassion towards their neighbours, communities, state and country.

The Governor added that as Jesus Christ conquered death and rose after three days in the tomb, God will help Nigeria to overcome his present challenges, and on his own part, Abiodun reiterated his administration’s commitment to the delivery of good governance in terms of socioeconomic and infrastructural development.

Penpushing also reports that while congratulating the Christians for witnessing another Easter, Abiodun urged them to celebrate with the less privileged by showing love to them in a manner Jesus exemplified, adding he would continue to discharge his duties with justice, equity and fairness as his guiding principles.
