A concerned Nigerian, Engr Folabi has called and advised former President Olusegun Obasanjo to becareful in associating with the controversial Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi, as well keep distance from the troubled government of Muhammed Buhari.

Penpushing reports that, Folabi gave the advice while contributing to Fresh Fm Radio station segment of newspapers report on Saturday, attributing  Gumi’s comments on Obasanjo to Penpushing media, which reported the claim of Gumi that, Obasanjo played role in the release of the  27 students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State.

The contributor on the radio programme cautioned Obasanjo to recall what he passed through during the terror reign of late former Head of State, General Sanni Abacha, when he  was clamped into detention and subsequent jail sentence over a phantom coup.

‘I want to say something about the release of the students of Kaduna.  Having  read news on the release of the students by Baba Obasanjo. I will asked him, Baba Obasanjo to becareful in associating himself with Sheikh Gumi’,Folabi warned

‘He(Obasanjo) should remember what happened to him during the time of former Head of State, General Sanni Abacha, how he was treated by Abacha government. Baba was set up for conspiracy coup. I am using this medium to tell him to distance himself from Sheikh Gumi’, he emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that, Folabi  also stressed need for Obasanjo to keep away from Buhari’s administration, and gave reason, adding  that this became necessary in view of music the administration is reeling out, which he said may not be palatable, and sounds replica of Abacha’s regime.

‘Due to the music the present administration is singing, we are alerted that some people are planning to overthrow his government. Baba should distance himself from Gumi, because I would not like to see whereby, they will rubbish my daddy (Obasanjo),because Baba is my daddy, I love him very much’, Folabi emphasised

Penpushing also reports that, it is recalled that, Gumi had on Thursday while receiving the parents of the freed students explained the role of the former president in the pact to secure the release of the kidnapped students.

“The role myself and former President Olusegun Obasanjo played in the release of the 27 Afaka students is the role of mediators because the fight is not between us and them (bandits) but between the bandits and the government,” ,he said
