CITY CENTRE PROJECT WILL BE COMPLETED AFTER MY EXIT AS GOVERNOR, SAYS AMOSUN

Amosun added further that, the Abeokuta City Centre project has taken off, with the construction of world class shopping mall, hall, an ampi-theatre, hotel and service apartment arena.

 He  said the project would be private sector driven, noting that the State Government would be responsible for  the construction of the ampi- theatre, while two commercial banks were already on site, constructing their offices; one of which was a twelve storey building, where banking activities in the whole of West Africa would be controlled.

 Hear him for record, ‘’the centre will also accommodate the central station of the Federal Government rail project and it will be completed in twenty four months,’’.

The Governor was born January 25, 1958, and was elected Senator for the Ogun Central District of the State, in April 2003.He also in April 2007 made an unsuccessful bid to be elected Governor of Ogun State.

He ran for governor again on 2011, and this time was elected on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform, while in similar vein contested for office for the second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and won and was re-elected and sworn into office May 29, 2015.

Meanwhile, Commissioner for Housing, Architect Segun Abiodun, on her part said the project was one out of the many projects, which the present administration has been using in attracting more investors and people to reside in the State.

 In his own remark, the promoter of the Shoprite Mall, Mr. Tayo Amusan, also affirmed that the project would be completed in twenty-four months, adding on completion  the new shoprite shopping mall, being constructed within the city centre, was the second largest in Nigeria.
