Man allegedly kills 60-year-old woman with shovel

A man Chidera Ezeoke has allegedly attacked and killed a 60-year-old woman Rose Awoke with a shovel who was his neighbour in Egugho, Ezzagu, a community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Penpushing reports that the Ebonyi State Police Command Public Relations Officer Joshua Ukandu, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, adding that the incident occurred on Monday and that both suspect and victim resides in same compound

The police spokesperson, a deputy superintendent of police, said the suspect allegedly murdered the victim by hitting her several times with the shovel and abandoned her in a pool of her blood

‘The suspect murdered the deceased by hitting her several times with a shovel and abandoned her in a pool of her blood. The officers of the command were able to apprehend him before he could flee,” he said.

Penpushing further reports that as at the time of filing this report the Command Public Relations Officer in the statement said the police authorities have commenced investigation into the incident.
