Ogun state chambers of commerce inaugurates new leadership

The Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) has   inaugurated new executives led by Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye to pilot the affairs of the chambers for next two years.

Penpushing reports that, the inauguration of the new leadership was held on Thursday at the Moshood Abiola International Tradefair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the State Capital in line with coronavirus protocols.

The President of the Chambers in his acceptance speech said that since inception, of the organization has been fortunate to be under the leadership of exceptional leaders who have distinguished themselves and made good impact towards the progress of the noble association.

The 18th President of the chamber, stated, “I will like to commend the relentless efforts of our immediate past president, Adele-Oba Kolawole Lawal and other officers who directed the affairs of the Chamber in the last two years”

“There is no doubt that his tenure has also raised the bar of the Chamber’s progress. With the grace and benevolence of Almighty God, I have succeeded Adele-Oba Kolawole Lawal as the new President of Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, the position that would be held for the next two years”

“By the grace of God and the assured support of other officers and members of the Chambers, we shall do our utmost best to make the new dispensation as productive and eventful as that of my predecessors”, Olaleye assured

“Furthermore, in a bid to commit ourselves to the goals the new administration has envisioned, our focus will be to continue to look inward in order to harness our local resources and encourage the growth of their value chains both locally and on the global scale”

Penpushing further reports that, the  Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his keynote address said that the Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture has remained an exceptional organization towards improving business activities within the related sectors of economy in the state.

The Governor  represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs Kikelomo Longe  stated that with over 3,000 corporate members across the state, accounting on estimated 60% industrial output and 65% of general commence and about 25% of financial services in the state in particular and Nigeria as a whole, the chambers have continued to wax stronger.

“OGUNCCIMA have continue to exemplary in the important areas of employment generation, poverty alleviation, and above all food security. Over the past decades OGUNCCIMA has remain one of the leading voices of the private sector through its sustain public policy advocacy, stakeholders engagement, and trade promotion activities”

“The investors program and many other projects of the chamber are symbolic representation of the commitment of members of this great organization towards sustaining  the visions of the founding Father”

Penpushing also reports that, the immediate past president of National Association Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA)  Iyalode  Alaba Lawson in her goodwill message  appealed to the state government to assist the chamber in its activities, adding that the landed property belonging to the chamber should not be used for an housing estate as being rumoured.
