Bandits invasion: Oyo state police commissioner meets stakeholders

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Joe Enwonwu, has embarked on a familiarization tour and assessment of the entire Ibarapa/Oke Ogun axis of the State over the alleged invasion of armed bandits and the incessant crisis between the herders and the farmers
Penpushing reports that, the tour started at the Area Command Headquarters, Eruwa on the Tuesday, where stakeholders from Ibarapa East Local Government Area, Eruwa, Ibarapa Central LGA, Igboora, Ibarapa North Local Government Area Ayete, and Ibarapa North West Local Council Development Area(LCDA) Igangan met.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Fadeyi Olugbenga,in a statement noted that the meeting was extensively attended by traditional rulers, officers and men of the command, Chairmen of local government areas, Police Community Relations Committee(PCRC) members, Community/youth leaders, Vigilantes, Hunters, Herders, Farmers, Heads of Myetti Allah, Seriki Fulani/Hausa were all in attendance.
Penpushing further reports that, the police boss called for collaboration of all stakeholders with the command flush out criminal elements that are bent on disturbing the peace of the Ibarapa area.
The commissioner equally met with Heads of farmers/herders including the Seriki Fulani/Hausa and heads of Myetti allah on the need to avoid incessant clashes as a result of destruction of farmland and retaliation of killing cattle, and directed the Divisional Police Officers to ensure the farmers/herders enter into agreement to be drawn up by the O/C Legal, so it will be legally binding on the parties.
Penpushing also reports that, Enwonwu had a stakeholders meeting at Iganna Area Command with HRM Oba Soliu Oyemola Azeez, Sabigana of Iganna land in attendance with other critical stakeholders from Iwajowa LGA, Iwere-Ile, kajola LGA, Okeho, Iganna LCDA Iganna, Iwa LCDA, Ilero where he equally warned on the need for peace to reign in the area. He enjoined all to support the Police force, other security agencies. He implored them to always alert the police, whenever they see strange faces in their communities.
The police boss in continuation of the tour, moved to Oke-Ogun axis, and had a meeting with the Okere of Saki Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi, Oyedepo III, Oba Dr. Michael Kofoworola Olakanla II, Aare of Ago-are, other stakeholders from Saki West and East local government areas, Ago-Amodu, Atisbolocal government area Tede, Wewe , Asabari , Atisbo South, Ago-AreLocal Government Development Councils, Iseyin, Itesiwaju local government areas, Otu at the Saki town hall.
The familiarization/security assessment tour equally took the commissioner to Igbeti Area Command, where he had stakeholders meeting with the Onigbeti of Igbeti Oba Emmanuel Oyekan Oyebisi Afesegbejo III, Iba of Kisi Oba Moshood Aweda Arowoduoye II, representative of Onigboho of Igboho land,
Penpushing reports that, others are: Chairmen of Olorunsogo, Igbeti, Oorelope, Igboho, Irepo , Kisi government areas and other critical stakeholders including Heads of sisters’ security agencies within the area, PCRC, religious leaders, Community/youth leaders, the Serikis, Heads of Myetti allah, farmers/herders representatives.
