Arsenal Football Club fan stabbed to death over soccer analysis

An Arsenal football club fan, identified as ‘Vigo’ was on Thursday stabbed to death following crisis between him and another soccer lover at a newsstand around Vox Bus Stop, Lagos-Badagry expressway, Lagos State.

Penpushing reports that, the hot argument between the duo was traced to Arsenal’s Tuesday’s drubbing of West Bromwich Albion football club, forcing the other man to break a bottle and stabbed Vigo on the neck

The witness account further has it that Vigo was rushed to a private clinic where he was later pronounced dead, a sad development which forced the deceased symphatizers to launch vengeance on the alleged murderer

“So the other guys who took Vigo to the hospital were visibly angry when they learnt he was dead. They just returned to the scene where the attacker was still standing and he was violently attacked and beaten to stupor”, a witness added

“Vigo was an Arsenal fan, so he was arguing with this guy (referring to the mobbed man) and before we knew what was going on the guy broke a bottle and stabbed him on his neck”, the witness said

Penpushing further reports that, another source said the alleged killer was fond of violence whenever he is drunk, adding that, that was not the first time he would be accused of killing in the area.

“That was how he pushed Baba Ijebu to his death.Whenever he is drunk or high on drugs he misbehaves and causes problems for us in this area. That was why the police officers were looking at him when he was being mobbed. Nothing will happen because the police will not do anything about it,” the source stated.

Penpushing also reports that, the alleged killer was about to be set ablaze by, the angry youths when the police team from the Ojo Police Station stopped them, and quickly rescued him, put him in a bus and drove off, but it was not clear where he was being taken to as of the time of filing this report.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu when contacted,  said he was yet to be briefed by the authorities at the Ojo police station, and  promised to get back as soon as he was briefed.
