Anthony Joshua out of hospital, visits funeral home to pay final respect to deceased friends

The world boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital having been deemed clinical fit to recuperate from home, though heavy hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends in auto crash which occurred on Monday along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Penpushing reports that the discharge from a hospital in Lagos State was made known in a statement by both Ogun and Lagos State Government, adding that he left the hospital late afternoon of Wednesday.

The statement was jointly signed by Special Adviser Information and Strategy to Ogun State Governor, Kayode Akinmade and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos state Gbenga Omotoso

‘Anthony Joshua was discharged from hospital late this afternoon though heavy hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends he was deemed clinical fit to recuperate from home’, the statement read.

Penpushing further reports that the statement added that the boxer and his mother thereafter, visited the funeral home in Lagos to pay their final respects to his two deported friends as they were being prepared for repatriation.

The statement stated that both Governors Dapo Abiodun Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu deeply appreciate the public concern and show of love and affection over the very sad and unfortunate incident.

Penpushing also reports that the states government commiserated with the families of the two young men Lateef Ayodele and Cina Gami who tragically and unfortunately lost their lives in the road accident.

‘We pray The Almighty grant the repose of their souls whilst granting their families and loved ones the fortitude to bear this very sad and painful loss. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu deeply appreciate the public concern and show of love and affection over this very sad and unfortunate incident’, the statement added.

The Governor equally appreciated President Bola Tinubu for all fatherly support he gave throughout the process, as well as the team of Doctors and medical personnel tag the Lagoon Hospital Ikoyi that attended to the boxer and those that sustained injuries, pointing out the quality of care and professionalism was truly commendable.
