America-Africa Trade Council appoints Imal Silva as regional director

The U.S.-Africa Trade Council, has appointment Imal Silva as Regional Director of Agribusiness – West Africa, and with this new position he is to provide regional leadership and strategic guidance and direction, in the programs, policy as well as strategic efforts to improve the agribusiness trade traffic between the America and Africa.

Penpushing reports that, a statement by Executive Vice President, Regis Uzoma explained that Imal Silva is Co-founder, SILADE Agro Clubs, a business and technical development company in the agro allied space.

The appointee is Chairman, Board of Directors, Taprobane Medical Centers with its presence in Nigeria and also the Principal Partner at Imal Silva and Partners, a Business and Investment Advisory firm, as well as Co-founder at Initiative for Sustainable Development and Member, ICT Thematic Group, Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

Penpushing further reports that, Silva is a graduate of Biochemistry at the University of Ibadan, and also studied entrepreneurship at the Enterprise Development Center, Lagos Business School, while in same vein studied Agribusiness Management for Executives at the Lagos Business School, as well as a visiting lecturer, Urban and Homestead Farming at the same institution.

The US-Africa Trade Council’s core agenda is built around three interdependent themes: Establishment of linkages, policy input and advocacy to increase bilateral trade and investment between US and Africa; Interchange with the American Business community on the resources that abound in Africa, generating Trade, Tourism and Foreign investment in Africa; and promote internationalization of African businesses, products and services to the US marketplace.
