Air Peace’s aircraft overshoots runway

Air Peace aircraft carrying dozens of passengers on Sunday had accident at about 7.45am when it overshot its runway at the Port Harcourt International Airport, but no casualties recorded in the incident.

Penpushing reports that the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Obiageli Orah, confirmed the incident involving Air Peace’s flight P47190 from Lagos.

The Director in a statement issued on Sunday, said the aircraft, with registration number 5N-BQQ, departed Lagos and landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport at approximately 7.45 a.m., before it overshot the runway.

Penpushing further reports that Orah stated that the authority was relieved to report that there were no casualties, adding that evacuation of the 127 passengers has been completed safely with no casualties.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) explained that the incident would delay flights coming into Port Harcourt and that further details would be provided when available.
