Acquire enough drones to track criminals, Bamgbose tasks Nigerian government

A former Governorship Candidate under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA, Prof David Bamgbose has tasked Nigerian government to consider the use of drones in fighting banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in the country

Penpushing reports that, the  Professor of Educational and Administrative Management, posited that modern technology remains best way to win war against criminals and criminality, stressing that if the government is serious about putting an end to the crimes, it has to toe the way of technology.

“Drones are equipment that can help us identify any bandit in the forest; I wonder why our government cannot invest in all these things. How much do we need to procure drones, why must our people be killed to buy drones? If drones are purchased, it can help us to identify where terrorists and bandits are in our forests’.

The Don, who condemned recent alleged Fulani attack on Igangan community of Oyo State, encouraged Governors in the South-West of the country, to be proactive towards addressing insecurity in the zone, before it gets out of hands

Penpushing further reports that, the 2015 governorship candidate emphasised that the Governors should urgently convey a security summit of stakeholders to address the rising insecurity in the region.

.”The uncoordinated reactions by the governors of the Southwest region are worrisome and the governors need to rise up, if the federal government has not been able to arrest this situation in the Northeast, how will they come to help us in Southwest?

“The governors have the primary responsibility of securing their States that is why it is stated in the constitution that, governors are the chief security officers of their State and the constitution also provide security vote that is given exclusively to the governors to be used to save the lives of our people’, he stated.

“There is need for the governor to call on a stakeholder’s security meeting were people can volunteer information on the issue of security. There is need for us to reach out to other countries and organisations outside Nigeria to help us fight insecurity”
