6.000 delegates to attend national convention of Peoples Democratic Party in October
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated 15 sub-committees for its National Convention Scheduled for 30 and 31 October, 2021, with over 6,000 delegates expected at the convention, scheduled to hold in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Penpushing reports that, Governor Diri Duoye of Bayelsa State, who read the sub-committees, which include National Convention Organising Committee, said Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State will chaired the committees
The Governor of Akwa-Ibom, Udom Emmanuel will chaired the Constitutional Amendment Committee,, while Zoning Committee will be chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State; as well as former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke to chaired Screening Committee
Penpushing further reports that, sub-committees and their chairmen inaugurated include: former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu;( Screening Appeal Committee) Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State (Special Duties Committee),Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State(Accreditation Committee) and former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase(Security Committee).
The Electoral (statutory) Committee, is to be chaired by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Publicity Committee chaired by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and Venue Committee, chaired by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State
Penpushing also reports that, others include: Welfare and Entertainment Committee with Mariya Waziri as chairperson; Transportation Committee with former Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo as Chairman; and Contact and Mobilization Committee with Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State as Chairman.
The list also include Protocol Committee with Biodun Olujimi, the Ekiti South senator as chairperson; the Medical Committee, Nuhu Zagbayi; and the Secretariat Committee, Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretary.
Penpushing reports that, Governor Fintiri while inaugurating the sub-committees, expressed optimism that the October convention would be successful and lead the party to victory in 2023,explaining that all committees members carefully selected to organise a credible convention for the party, and urged them to make the necessary sacrifices to deliver the best convention to the party.
“We are fully prepared for that. We are expecting everybody in every ward that is a delegate to attend the convention. You can see the party is working, and it is a turning point for all of us’ he said.
